Recording sessions underway for upcoming album Sep 23, 2009 at 11:48 am Sessions are underway that will bring listeners Howard Cowles' next album. The long awaited new album (title TBA later), has what early listeners cite as some of Howard's very best composing ever. The melodies are stunning, and some of the melodies and phrasings that Howard uses on these songs take his playing to a whole new and more expressive, improvisational level. As always, the melodies are paramount, but the degree of latitude that Howard allows himself in the phrasing and nuance within and in support of these melodies takes these songs in a direction that I think his fans will be very excited to hear.
